Fasem

Since 1976 Fasem combines quality materials with the design and care planning, arriving in 2011 through the new collections showing the history and the mood of the company. 2011 edition marks a very big step in terms of new products. The cooperation with 4 Designers of strong personality gave birth to 12 new lines of product that have a different character but are united under the same language of the company’s philosophy. Marc Sadler, Giancarlo Vegni, Noè Duchaufour Lawrance e Toshiyuki Kita: 4 different styles but the same ability to celebrate the qualities of the handicraft of Fasem workshop. Innovative seams distinguish the collection LYS designed by Marc Sadler. Minimalistic shapes enriched by sartorial seams that magnify the quality of the item. Carvings like embroideries and stripes of leather that wrap the steel feature the chairs PUMP and ROMA respectively conveying a recall to the ancient handicraft often forgotten. Ashwood and saddle leather celebrate the natural feeling of the WOOD collection designed by Giancarlo Vegni that reviews the in a modern way the combination between those wonderful materials. The renewed inspiration of the Designer gave birth to a couple of chairs that can be considered a typical product of Fasem workshop: SAIL and DRESS bring back to what Fasem has always been. But the driver of Giancarlo Vegni’s design is D.STYLE cabinet and coffee table. The multiplicity of the combinations of leather colors and shapes replace the paintbrush of the painter to create an attractive decoration. Sophistication and elegance feature the chairs designed by Noè Duchaufour Lawrance. Steel, saddle leather and soft leather are joined together in perfect harmony and create dynamic shapes connoted by the good taste of the Designer. BENZ recalls the soft seats inside 70’s models of the famous German car brand. A reference that reminds of comfort and a certain opulence. The graphic vertical lines are extended in the metal seat structure which defines their simple contours. MUT: one of leather’s main qualities is its ability to evolve and be enriched as it ages. The leather seats are deformed over time and truly fit the curves of the body. This sensual, organic interaction between user and object is the departure point for this project. The leather is cut in relation to the body’s weight distribution on the seat. The pattern amplifies and channels the material’s deformation which creates a new object, a mutation generated by the user himself. AIRLUX is the link between the refined taste and the comfort. Organic and comfort feature the TORI collection designed by Toshiyuki Kita. TORI represents the milestone and the sign of the Japanese designer for Fasem. NARA is the trace of Kita in the prosecution of the way of the leather handicraft of Fasem workshop.
