The Driade Store collection is particullary characterized by using different materials and manufacturing techniques, which run from industrial to the artisanal; Back in the ’50s Giulio Carlo Argan claimed that design would become the “popular art” of the 21st century. Interpreted by many for a long time as a utopian statement, this prophecy has become reality in the driadestore catalogue. “Art”, or rather a combination of sophisticated objects with unique conception and design, but also “popular”, or rather made available to all thanks to the use of up-to-the-minute technologies and extraordinary engineering skills. Made with plastic, ecological and recyclable materials or, in general, “productively correct” materials, driadestore pieces are intended to bring poetry to many. The driadestore house is therefore something more than a house, perhaps a garden with the sum of different essences and colours that are mixed in a highly variable but poetically charged order. The driadestore house is open to broader horizons: in it, tables and chairs move with grace and lightness between interior and exterior spaces. They can be fl owers among fl owers, nature in nature, but they can also leave their precious scent between four walls, illuminating day-to-day life with freshness. This is why the driadestore house is an “Italian-style house”. In the traditional Italian house there is little distinction between interior and exterior the outside architecture penetrates inside. And from inside it goes back outside with its porticos and terraces, its pergolas and verandas, its loggias and balconies, and with its furnishings that can look beyond the monotony of the everyday. The driadestore house rejects any principle of stylistic uniformity; it does not propose a story that has already been written, but the words of a story that everyone will weave together in different ways.
