In 1982 Alessandro Mendini, reissued, in a totally unexpected way, the forgotten and “bourgeois” type of “high backed and large eared bergère”. The “bergère” is the most “individual” armchair ever, a real refuge to think. Mendini has made it gently straight, perhaps as a tribute to the unforgettable Sabrina performed by Audrey Hepburn in the famous movie by Billy Wilder of 1954.
